Available positions include:
BUSINESS TUTOR
The primary function of a BUSINESS TUTOR is to assist students with 1000- and 2000-level business courses (i.e. Stats for Business Analytics, Decision Analytics, Principles of Macroeconomics, Principles of Financial Accounting, Introduction to Information Systems)
MATH/STATS TUTOR
The primary function of a MATH/STATS TUTOR is help improve students’ understanding of 1000- and 2000-level MATH/STAT content (i.e. Algebra, Calculus, Stats).
CORNERSTONE/FIRST-YEAR PEER MENTOR
Peer Mentors work five (5) hours per week. You will be assigned to a specific general education course (e.g. First-Year Cornerstone etc.) and work directly with the course instructor to support first-year students in their transition to college.
SCIENCE TUTOR
The primary function of a SCIENCE TUTOR is to help improve students’ understanding of 1000- and 2000-level SCIENCE content (i.e. Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, Physics).
SUCCESS COACH
SUCCESS COACHES are assigned a caseload of students who are on Academic Alert or Probation. They meet individually with these students to help them identify and overcome barriers to their college success. Students on Alert or Probation are invited to participate in the Success Coaching program at the beginning of each semester. The program is voluntary.
UNI PLUS TEACHING ASSISTANT
The primary function of a UNI PLUS TEACHING ASSISTANT is to support students in a specific course and with a specific instructor. UNI PLUS leaders should expect to work at least 7 hours per week. You will be expected to do all of the following: attend and periodically facilitate activities in an assigned class (∼3hrs); meet weekly with host instructor and prep for study sessions (∼2hrs); facilitate weekly study session (∼2hrs).
WRITING TUTOR
The primary function of a WRITING COACH is to provide writing feedback and instruction to UNI students writing across diverse disciplines, and work with students to develop mastery and confidence with all phases of the writing process, including planning, drafting, revising, proofreading, avoiding plagiarism, and applying citation styles.
ACADEMIC COACH/SPECIALTY TUTOR
Academic Coaches at The Learning Center (TLC) @ Rod Library serve a variety of functions, including, but not limited to 1) providing general academic support; 2) serving as discipline/course-specific content tutors.
